Hey there! are you looking for the best way to take care of your hair?
Whether you have curly hair, straight hair, or deal with a specific issue like hair loss, it’s crucial to develop a routine that works for you.
We are all too willing to try out the latest trend or listen to what our friends say.
But, sometimes, it is not until we taste failure that we really start understanding what does and doesn’t work for us.
For example, I have seen people make many mistakes in their hair care routine, but with a few simple tweaks, they were able to regain confidence.
I want you to be confident in your ability to take care of your hair.
To help you achieve this goal, I am going to show you how a few small changes can make a world of difference.
Your hair is an extension of one’s personality, and it’s essential to take care of it to keep it looking its best.
There’s no secret to keeping your hair looking its finest; you don’t need a magic potion.
If you'd want to have healthy hair,
you should follow the same rules as you would
for healthy skin:
Create a haircare routine that you can stick to, regardless of your hair type (straight, wavy, curly, or coily).
You need to figure out hair type, desired results, and budget as part of that routine.
No worries!!!
I’ve got your back!!
You don’t know your hair type?
That’s okay after reading and understanding my prior post entitled “What is hair care?”
That post includes info about hair type, and with this post, you’ll learn how to create a hair care routine for your hair according to your type of hair.
Haircare advises for all hair types:
Regardless of your hair type, you should avoid heat on your hair.
Keep hydrated, take vitamins, and massage your scalp daily.
Wash your hair in warm water, and then rinse it out in cold water.
You should also avoid using chemical treatments.
To dry your hair, use microfiber towels.
Trim any split ends as soon as you see them.
Brushing, styling, or using a shirt to dry damp hair are all terrible ideas.
Don’t use rubber bands or elastic bands on your hair.
Instead, let it air dry and let the hair become filthy for an additional day so that your natural oil can build up in it.
Also, please consider purchasing quality hair care products; you’ll be glad you did afterward.
What works for me doesn’t imply it will work for you, that’s something we need to understand, and that’s okay because you’ll keep trying until you achieve the results you desire.
My story,
I USED HARSH CHEMICALS when I desired straight hair, blew dry, and ironed my naturally curly hair.
And then, one day;
I said “oh my goodness!”😱
What on earth have I done to my hair that I don’t understand?
To repair my hair, which was brittle and dry, I needed to invest in hair care products and haven’t stopped since!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But, no, I wouldn’t alter a thing about my curls.
However, you’d be shocked to learn how long it took me to love, cherish, and maintain my hair; 10 years, to be exact.
So, it’s been ten years!!
Yes!!!!
Ten years!!
When my hair experimented with a wide range of products that I had no clue were in them, it dawned on me:
Why am I not using high-quality, natural products?
Everything in my life changed all of a sudden for the better.
So here I am to teach you how to make the process easier and assist you in any way I can 😊.
Why is it important to have a haircare routine?
The most straightforward approach to creating a hair care regimen is to think about how much you value your appearance and how it makes you feel.
If you’re unhappy with how you’re feeling and want to make a change, read on.
Take action now.
Improve your own well-being.
Find a hair care regimen that works for you and stay with it.
Your hair is a critical feature of your aesthetic.
Preventing hair breakage and damage is much easier with a regular hair care practice.
You’d want your hair to have a youthful, healthy, and attractive appearance.
I’d want that for you, too!
Everyone’s hair is different, so finding the hair care routine that works best for you can be a bit of a trial-and-error process.
Start your hair care regimen by following these steps:
- First, consider your hair type.
If you have dry hair, you’ll want to focus on hydrating products that will help to replenish your hair’s natural moisture levels.
And if you have oily hair, you’ll want to use products that will help control excess oil production.
- Second, pay attention to your scalp
A healthy scalp is a healthy hair.
So, make sure to include a gentle cleanser and an invigorating scalp massage in your hair care routine.

- Finally, don’t forget about your hair ends.
Haircare regimen
Straight hair regimen
For the best result, shampoo your hair every two or three days, condition (for 10 to 15 minutes), and rinse with cold water.
You may use a leave-in conditioner to smooth out any knots and a wide-toothed comb to make the process of detangler easier.
Air dry, use a volumizing mousse for sealing in need.
You can apply a hair mask a minimum of 1 to 2 times per week to keep your hair from appearing flat, oily, or lifeless.
Wavy hair regimen
Before washing, detangle your hair.
You should only wash your wavy hair once a week, but you really should use conditioner both before and after you wash it (for 10 to 15 minutes); you may keep a tiny amount of conditioner on your hair without rinsing it off thoroughly.
After that, you may style your hair by using a leave-in conditioner, applying gel to the ends, and scrunching it.
If you don’t want to air dry, use a diffuser on medium or low heat to preserve your wavy curls.
Every other week, use a hair mask to keep your hair healthy.
Curly hair regimen
Pre-shampoo regularly uses a conditioning treatment on your curls to keep them hydrated (for 25 to 30 minutes), and then complete your hair care routine by rinsing with cool water.
Using a leave-in conditioner and a wide-toothed comb can help you detangle your hair more effectively.
Avoid using a brush. And instead, run your fingers through your hair as you style it.
Next, flip, coat, and scrunch to seal with gel, mousse, or foam.
A diffuser set to medium or low heat will do the trick, as would air drying.
Finally, touch up your hair’s oil anytime you see or feel it’s becoming a little dry.
Coily hair regimen
Be sure to give your hair a pre-shampoo treatment;
Honestly, I don’t advocate washing too often.
Use oil or conditioner before pre-shampoo to provide the hair with more moisture.
After applying detangling treatments, don’t brush your hair; instead, use a wide-toothed comb to remove the knots.
I repeat, DO NOT COMB! STAY AWAY FROM THE COMB!!!
Using a medium or low heat diffuser to preserve your curls when you can’t let your hair air dry is an option.
LOC styling and sealing methods (liquid, oil, and gel method).
Every week or every two weeks, use a hair mask to keep your hair looking its best.
When your hair feels or looks dry, add a few drops of oil to the ends.
How often you should wash your hair?
Everyone has a different opinion on how often they should wash their hair.
Some people believe that you should only wash it once a week, while others think you should wash it every day.
Washing your hair every day can strip it of its natural oils, while not washing it enough can cause it to become greasy.
- The type of hair you have
Having oily hair, you will likely need to wash it more often than someone with dry hair.
- The climate you live in
If you live in a hot/warm climate, you will likely need to wash your hair more than someone who lives in a colder area because of the humidity.
- The amount of physical activity you engage in
Exercise, if you are very active, you will likely need to wash your hair more often than someone who is sedentary.
- Product buildup
Due to product buildup, you can see white flaking and dandruff between your hair partings.
- Bad hair odor
Air pollution, hormone imbalance, diet, psoriasis, dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis, and product buildup may cause an unpleasant scent in the scalp and hair.
If this or any of the mentioned are your cases, visit your doctor (dermatologist) before using any product.
- Age
As you become older, your body undergoes changes that might contribute to hair loss.
Also, your sebum production decreases as you age, and dryness and frizz occur.
Haircare solutions should also include natural components
Natural ingredients are the best!!!!
Use only healthy products like apple cider vinegar, shea butter, aloe vera, coconut, avocado, tea tree, and argan oils.
Please avoid products containing any of the following components:
Alcohol
Benzene
Cocamidopropyl Betaine
Diethanolamine (DEA)
Dimethicone
Formaldehyde
Synthetic Fragrances
Mineral oil
Petroleum jelly
PVP/VA copolymer
Polyethylene glycol (PEG)
Phthalates
Parabens
Retinyl Palmitate
Silicones
Ammonium Sodium Laury Sulfate
Sodium Laureth Sulfate
Sodium Chloride
Sodium Hydroxide
Synthetic colors and dyes
Triclosan
When should you change your hair care routine?
My hair is different; therefore, I can’t advise how often you should mix up your hair care routine.
Instead, listen to what your hair is saying in the meanwhile.
For example, suppose you’ve been using the same shampoo and conditioner for six months and notice that your hair is getting oily and lifeless.
Don’t, however, change the whole assortment of products you use for your hair care regimen since you see that your hair is getting greasy.
But start by adjusting for a new hair mask, conditioner, or leave-in conditioner.
Two to three month of trial and error is suggested when experimenting with new products.
Haircare essentials should include:
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Leave-in conditioner
- Mask/Deep conditioner
- Scalp treatment
- Scalp massager
- Microfiber hair towel
- Detangler hairbrush & wide toothcomb
What can happen when you don't have a haircare routine?
Well, let me tell you!
Having oily and lifeless hair reflects poorly on your appearance.
What does “greasy” or “dull” imply about your appearance? “dirty” or “not clean” means a person with bad hygiene.
Even though you know, it’s not true.
In addition to not having a hair care routine, your hair can begin to fall out, dry out, become dull, and develop dandruff and other scalp infections.
In the long term, not having a hair care regimen will have a negative impact on your health and well-being.
